Coles County Speedway to Host “Road to the Dome” Invitational on September 28
Mattoon, IL – Coles County Speedway is proud to announce the Road to the Dome, a one-night-only, invite-only showdown set to take place on Sunday, September 28, 2025. This high-stakes event will feature some of the nation’s most elite drivers in Super Late Models and Modifieds, battling it out under the lights on the famed Illinois clay. Billed as a tune-up for the Gateway Dirt Nationals in St. Louis, the Road to the Dome will feature a select group of invited drivers, with no entry fees. — just elite racers going head-to-head for big money.
With prestige and bragging rights on the line, this event is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated dirt track races of the fall.
“This isn’t just another race night — this is an elite-level shootout,” said promoter Brian Rieck. “We’re bringing together a handpicked roster of top-tier drivers and putting on a show that fans won’t forget.”

Concessions will be available, including food from the Turn 4 Café, and fans can expect driver interaction, giveaways, merchandise, and special guest appearances throughout the evening.
This is an invitational event — only selected drivers will compete, with a focus on performance, sportsmanship, and national reputation. A full driver list will be released in the coming weeks.
