Coles County Speedway Welcomes 305 Sprint Cars to 2025 Season Lineup

Mattoon, IL – [April 17, 2025] – Coles County Speedway is thrilled to announce an exciting addition to its 2025 racing season: 305 Sprint Cars are officially joining the weekly lineup, beginning Saturday April 26th! This move marks a new chapter in the Speedway’s commitment to bringing fast-paced, high-energy racing action to fans across Central Illinois.

Effective immediately, Mod Lites will be removed from the weekly schedule to make way for the new division, instead, the will be added once a month. While we appreciate the teams and drivers who have supported the Mod Lites in past, we’re confident that this change will elevate the overall racing program and bring a fresh wave of energy to Saturday nights at the track.

“This is a big step forward for Coles County,” said Brian Rieck. “305 Sprint Cars bring a unique level of speed and excitement that fans are going to love. We’re constantly looking for ways to grow the track and bring in new talent, and we believe this is the right move at the right time.” 305 Sprint Cars will race for $750 to win, $125 to start for 12 or more cars. $500 to win and $100 to start for 12 cars or less. We want to align with Jacksonville Speedway and give those Friday night cars a place to race on Saturday nights in Central Illinois.

In addition to the class changes, Coles County Speedway will also implement a new racing start time of 6:30 PM, giving fans more daylight action and helping families enjoy a full night of racing without it running too late. New times are as follows, Gates open at 1pm, Draw from 3-5:15, Drivers meeting 5:30, Hot laps 6pm, racing at 6:30.

Fans can expect the same high-quality racing environment Coles County is known for—now with even more horsepower. Drivers and teams interested in joining the 305 Sprint Car class are encouraged to contact the Speedway for more information.
