Coles County Speedway Announces Formation of New Rescue Team
Mattoon, IL – March 16, 2025 – Coles County Speedway is excited to announce the formation of the Coles County Speedway Rescue Team, a dedicated unit designed to ensure the safety and well-being of drivers, crews, and spectators during racing events. This new team is composed of highly trained paramedics, emergency medical technicians (EMTs), and firefighters, with the goal of providing rapid response and expert care in the event of any emergency.
The Coles County Speedway Rescue Team features an exceptional roster of first responders, each bringing years of experience to the track. Among the team members is a 23-year veteran of the NHRA Safety Safari, who has extensive experience working with major racing events and handling the unique challenges of motorsports safety.
In addition to the NHRA veteran, the rescue team is composed of local paramedics, EMTs, and firefighters, all of whom are highly trained in both motorsports-related incidents and general emergency care. The team’s diverse skill set ensures that any emergency situation, from medical emergencies to fire and rescue operations, will be handled with the highest level of professionalism and care.
